Summer in Israel.

It is still quite cold here in the lovely north of South Dakota. I am still looking for some good travel deals to get me to Israel this summer. I would like to go to Israel.

Go spend a week there and drive around and see all the things you have alwayswanted to see.

My school recently purchased some used cisco equipment. Of curse the esxcuse is that we have tech money not . . . salary money.


I am not to sure what to make of it. I am not a fan of money in this pocket cannot move to this pocket.

Seems like a reason not to do it.

Looking Long Term.

Based on where I am working I have seriously thought about setting some serious term insurance to protect my family. I have seen some serious issues with some of the students.

I have seen some of the staff have real issues and I really wonder. I know at least one staff was getting some good long term diability.

Out At Night

I am so glad that I have an adjustable beds. I have learned that I really need to have some solid sleep time. Every night is why I really need to have some eight hours of sleep.

My nice new bed is quite confterable and I am glad that I can sleep. It is amazing at how mice it is when I can sleep.

Clothing

Some students like wearing some odd and funny t-shirts.

My personal favorite one is "I put the FU back in FUN!"

Of course the kid got sent home. But it is still a funny shirt and made me laugh. Of course the it is amazing how many deal with bodily functions.

Praying in School

One of my students has a form of mesothelioma. And I feel great compassion for this student. I wish he was a more popular student. If he was then some of the really cool stories may come out of it.


In any case, I have vast amounts of compassion for this student.


Needless to say, I do pray for him.

Clarify

Well as I was talking about in my last post . . . the tools and the person is leading the program. Well I left that with a can't wait to see what happens. Well that is not a negative thing. I am suspecting that the students will react positivly to the program. I know in the life skills class they were shocked to the cost of items like online auto insurance and other such things for an 18 year old.

So I am hoping this will be able to reduce cost of car expenses in the long run.

Tool TIme

Well we are setting up an auto shop at school. One of the problems is with tools. The guy who is leading this class brings in his big ole truck with his truck tool boxes stuffed with tools.

I think he must only get 2 miles per gallon.

In any case, because of the restrictions placed on this environment he has to account for every tool every day. What a pain in the butt. He spends, it seems, half his time playing tool shop guy.

In any case I cannot wait to see what happens.

That time of year

This is the time to get ready to start planning my summer vacation. I am trying to get my travel trailers ready for summer vacation. I am planning on going to Washington DC and some of the areas around there.

I would like to go see the newer monuments that have been erected since I have been there.

I would also like to go to Getteysburg.

Classroom Changes

Grr. Just what I wanted. A phone in my classroom. Since we had Friday off . . . I am getting new fiber optic cables in my room and a phone.


Just what I want. It is on par wit hhaveing a camera in my room. Not something I Really want. Not something I really need.

Virgil on a couch

One of the nice things that the lit teacher did was to set up a sofa and some pillows for students to read on.

I love this idea. Almost makes me want to teach lit. Sort of . . . I would not mind teaching lit . . . I do not want to teach english or grammer.

I would love to sit and read / teach through the Anied or Dante. Something of style of class.

Meetings.

Why teacher meetings? Ok, I understand that we have to pass on information and the meeting is the easiest way to pass on data that teachers all need. This day with the fearful leader being late . . . I sat through some wrinkle cream reviews from other teachers.

In any case . . . my lesson is learned. If the boss late, be late.

Noticed an odd trend

I guess it may be that I have been invovled with a christian ministry for the last few years and the naughtiness of drinking. I guess I am amazed at how many teachers drink. We have several teachers with wine club memberships. Even when student teaching, the people drank. I am just surprised. That is all.

Not that we have any drunks. Just an obersrvation.
