Christmas Time Aproachethes

Wow it is amazing at how many of the staff have started diet pill to get ready for Christmas time.

just like clock work, everyone is starting diets or taking pills or doing more workouts. Now instead of beers, it is to the gym for a quick workout. Nothing like regularity to spur on the fall and winter approaching.

one of the things I have wanted for the classroom is to have a LCD TV. This way it would be mounted on the wall. If it is on the wall, I do not have worry about it moving out to another classroom.

I mean we only have 2 TVs for 6 classrooms. Plus two differnt buildings.

Moving

I know I was talking about moving. It is hard to move. We have to pack up our home theater seating and get everything moved. Not an easy thing to do.

I mean it was nice when it was delivered, they set it up.

Now I have to set it up. Grrrrr. Not to mention, I have to do some more wiring. I am so sick of wiring.

Teaching can be fun

I love listening to people and finding out what is going on. There are several Americas that we have to deal with.

John Kerry - go out to Wendy's and then go out a five star place.

Obama - Michelle having lobster and such. I guess so much for white people's greed.

Going Out

One of the hard things to do as a teacher is to move. We have to moving boxes and usually lots of them.

I mean moving is hard for teacher. We leave an area that we usually have fallen in love with. People we have grown to know. It is hard to leave as a teacher.

I still wish I would have been able to teach at the high school I was at as a student.

NEA and Mail

I am on the NEA mailing list. I am even a former member of the NEA. And like clockwork, Black Friday ads, and elections the non-partisan information ads come.

Now what is funny, is how these mailings are written. There is an obvious slant they are pushing and you can read it.

The best part is of course the pictures they use. A nice good looking Obama and a scowling McCain. I am shocked, you mean this non-partisan ad is really a partisan ad? Of course not. I am stunned.

Contracts and Unions

One of the things you will have to decide on with new contracts and such is the good old term life insurance quotes for yourself. We always need items that are way out there.

One of the great shortcomings of teacher training is the lack of preparing for contracts and then for unions. How do we deal with that. Not to sure.

At least in Sd we do not have to join a union.

Tool Belt For Dads.

One of the funny things about where I work at is the men to women ratio. There are more men than women by 3 to 1. So one of the guy's wife is pregnet. So we go togther and had a 'shower' for him. All the stuff that he would need including many casserole recipes so he can cook.

The result was rather funny. He had this tool belt with many things a new dad may need.

Out of the Box

One of the things I like to do, is to do unconventinal teaching. Small things, like sitting in a circle. Teaching from sitting on some bar stools. I have even sat on desks cross legged when we are discussing something.

Of course that assumes I am not doing a project for the students. Or showing a movie.
