Issues with techs

One of the problems with being a tech junkie and a computer whiz. People want your help. One teacher was having problems and she wanted me to do a power supply repair for her computer.

I have had to learn to polietly say no. Now I am seen as stand offish. I do not mean to insult, but we pay tech people. Ask them. Please

Advice

As a gift for my advisor, I bought some engraved pens with her name on it. I am not sure I would have survived without her help.

As a point of advice, get to know your advisor. They can help in so many ways. I hope that you, as a future student, can take advantage of such help and remember they are there for your benefit.

Have a great day.

Bad Tech XP

Here is another one for experiance. I am a severe tech junkie and know what I am doing. So I was shocked when my computer had internet problems. The tech guy have given me a new network cables that looked good. And it was not.

So a few days later of what I knew the problem was they finally fixed it.

Well at least I have a working computer.

Happy Computers

When looking for a laptop, WGU had a deal on Dell Computers. Now Dell Computers are known for lack of Dell Memory on the inside.

As a general rule of thumb, you need to get as much RAM as you can place in the computer and you can afford.

Recently I had replace my 2Gb to 512MB. The 512 was unlivable. So get ram and you will be happy.

Pony Up

Now that I am done, stick the fork in, I have to look at student loan consolidation for my $$.

When looking at some of these, some are confusing with all the terms and changes and ideas. Of course paying back student loans is never fun. However, it is worth it. Even with the devaluation of the dollar over time through inflation, education will be a deal and 1/2.

Have a good day.

School Days Over

now that student days are mostly over. Will they ever be really over? I think not. I know I need some Phentermine to help take off some pounds.

So far in my first two weeks of teaching I have dropped nearly 10 pounds. No more mid day snaking. No more eating out of nerves. Kinda cool.

Have a happy day

Odd thoughts

I am now teaching and can afford Organic dog food for my puppy.

I so love teaching. I am with kids who are members of the state facility. This group of kids is great. Hard to work with. However, I have aides who help.

The really great thing is 'chair time' a student has a misbeavior they do to the chair in the back for 2 to 15 minutes. No fuss no muss. and the aides enforce it. I love the aides.

Thanks guys and gals.

Graduation

With graduation I would expect all the catholic gifts to be coming my way from the in-laws. The graduation ceramony is I think is way over rated. I am not even sure I will be going to the event. I have already done it once and see no need to do it again.

I know it is a great celebration and everything. However, it seems pointless to me. I just want the piece of paper. I guess sometimes I am little to pragmatic.

The Move

Well with moving I will have to get an apartment. This will be small one not at all like a vacation home rental.

At least the town as a Wally World and a Menards.

What is really weird is there are 44 restaurants in a town of 14K.

I still have one more class to take. This class is for certification the great state of South Dakota. I will keep you updated on that.

Looking

Now that I am done with the program. I have to find a job. I really hate doing this. I often have to TRAVEL to an interview. I will sometimes take a tent and camp. Sometimes I live out of my luggage and a hotel. No matter the case it is hard trying to find a good teaching job. Oh and one that pays well.

I think Kansas has the right idea. Have a min. salary for teachers.
