Education Crazies

One of the odd things is how items work together. What I find unique how the business insurance works for school. The whole education game is full oddities and how the insurance works.

When working at a business, it seems that insurance is straight forward and makes common sense. Like many things within schools and education system, it seldom makes sense and is not straight forward. Well have a good time trying to figure it out.

An Online MBA?

One of my obsessions with alternative education is that of ALT ED for adults. I have earned a BA degree via distance ed. I am very pro-distance education and like to find programs that are 1) accredited by the right people and 2) are 100% online. A secondary consideration is entrance requirements. I really hate distance ed with high entrance requirements. After most people have a hard time with distance education.

So I am considering my next degree. I am considering an online MBA as a next program. The alternative is an online MPA. the difference is private and public. Being in the education world I may be better served by a MPA but having to explain what that is can be tiring and exhausting.

The University of Scranton seems to fit the bill.

1. It is accredited by AACSB and is regionally accredited.
2. IT is 100% online. No pesky show up and take a class.
3. Will waive the GMAT for some students.

Sounds good to me.

A Great Commercial

I love watching commercials at times, of course I only really like funny that are really good. Now good humor is always simple. As an example if you advertise diet pills, you just want to say they help you lose weight.

This one is also minimalistic in the approach. Notice it the only thing colored is the truck and object of pointing it out. Notice the simple set and other simple items. This is an almost perfect commercial. We have to love the face of the kid. These guys deserve a writing award.

THoughts on Taxes and Death

One of the odd things with adminstration and choices we have to make is with insurance for the future. We have to worry about how to much to put aside for health and term insurance quotes that are given to us.

Now we do have a pittance for life insurance however, with kids in college I should make sure there is enough for all of them. These are the many choices we have to make. Of course the funny thing about taxes is that as soon as we have real expense for the kids, the tax deducation goes away.
