Palin and Education

You have to wonder with the whole Palin thing . . . will there be more kids born with CP and downs. This of course means more cerebral palsy lawyers going.

So how does this affect teaching. In basic theory starting in five or six years we will have a lot more kids with downs and cp in the classroom.

So teachers, you better become more and more ready.

Maps

When being a teacher we are always looking for a best buy in everything we need to buy.

I am looking forward to buying some new maps. I still have Soviet Union maps. The worst part is everytime I need to talk about the mideast, I do not have a good mideast map. That is what I need.

Around the Table

One of my favorite ways to teach is to sit around the table talking. at my last school I had a modern sofa for students to sit on. We also had a kitchen table that was given.

The student in my really small classes really enjoyed sitting around the table talking as a family. Really made for some very good discussions.

eat well

One of the hardest things I have noticed as a teacher is to eat well. I mean we are often offered free food that is supposed to be healthy. However, we will eat and then not exercise.
I know many teachers are using diet pills to help them lose weight. I should try some better ones.

Even though I think exercise would be better.

Science Rooms

I should have been a science teacher.

I love the rooms.

lizards
snakes
bird cages
cat trees with cats (Of course I am still trying to figure out that one with as many allergies are running around to cats.

Just all the great animals that would be such a great joy to have in the classroom.
